Work in ProgressSunday 1/24/10 time 9:47 PM - Ema-Lea Hope It's been a long time, but I thought I would put up some pictures of a work in progress. These bouquets are almost finished, but there are always little improvements that can be made or small additions that really make them special. When they are complete, I will post photos of the finished product.

Finished jewelleryTuesday 9/8/09 time 3:04 AM - Ema-Lea Hope These earrings and bracelets are for a party of bridesmaids. I'm happy with the result and I hope the girls are too. They feature fresh water pearls, crystals and glas |
Weddings and more weddingsTuesday 8/18/09 time 12:47 AM - Ema-Lea Hope So, I've been busy moving into our very own home, but have finally got most things unpacked and the way I want them. I have only just got my work station the way I want it and a space for all my little trinkets and materials. This is the first time I've had a space dedicated to my jewellery and accessories. It is very exciting and also inspiring. So now that I am set up, I am able to get to work on a few projects that need to be done. I have just completed three bracelets for a bridal party and I will now move on to their earrings. Next on the agenda are bouquets and buttonholes for an entire bridal party. Once I get started, hopefully I will be able to post some photos of the work in progress. |

A little chilly...Friday 5/8/09 time 4:52 AM - Ema-Lea Hope It is obvious that winter is fast approaching. The days are becoming shorter, the mornings are colder and it is much harder to get out of bed than it was a few short weeks ago. How time flies. Along with a new season comes a change in fashion, which means shopping for many of us. This season, fur (of the faux variety) is making a come back in the form of coats and vests. Also on the menu are winter's staple colours black, browns, neutrals and plum. Asymmetrical one shoulder garments are creating a stir as are subtle ruffles, frills and feminine styling. On the jewellery front BIG is BACK. Chandelier earrings are back with a vengeance. They are the perfect way to glam up a casual outfit or to really sparkle for a night on the town. Due to this current trend, much of my new stock will be Chandeliers in all different shapes, sizes and colours. Keep an eye out for new stock that will be added shortly. Ema-Lea

A new websiteThursday 4/30/09 time 4:19 AM - Ema-Lea Hope Hi, welcome to my blog. Hopefully, this can be a space where I share news, designs, and current projects. I'm excited about taking this next step, so share the site with your friends and lovers of jewellery and all things girly. As many of you will know, I was recently married. It was all very exciting and I was able to design the jewellery, accessories, table settings, bouquets, wishing well, corsages, buttonholes and all of the little things that make weddings so special. The best part was, I could have them exactly the way I wanted. Not to be out-done, Klinton (the husband and former baker) also wanted to add his own personal flair to the wedding by designing the cake. As he no longer has access to the resources to bake and decorate his own cake, he submitted a design to a professional who was able to create what he wanted. It was so nice to have someone who was willing to listen to what the customer wanted and enter into a collaborative process in order to create the perfect result. In essense, that is exactly what I like to do when designing jewellery; hear what the customer wants and be able to create a piece that is specifically for them and the occasion. One girlfriend in particular is notourious for calling me when she needs something specific for a special occasion or to go with a certain outfit. As she does not have pierced ears, she becomes frustrated with the lack of variety in clip-on earrings that she sees in the stores. She knows that if she has jewellery made, it will be exactly what she wants, at the right price point and she will be guarenteed not to see it on anyone else. For don't we all know that it is a sad day and every fashionista's worst nightmare to find someone wearing the same thing that you are...
